FAQ's for 2022 Spring/Summer Season

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) re: the 2022 Baseball / Softball Seasons.

Q: When is Opening Day for the 2022 baseball and softball season?
A: Opening Day for our Tee Ball and Coach Pitch divisions is Saturday, May 14th. Our 8U, 10U, 12U and softball divisions will begin playing the week of May 17th.  This is subject to change based on the weather and field conditions.

Q:  When does registration close?

A:  Registration for tee ball, coach pitch, both 8u divisions, 10u, & 12u will close either on 3/18/22 at 11:59 PM or when the divisions are full, which ever comes first.  Registration for both 15u divisions will close 5/1/22 at 11:59 PM.

Q: When will I know which team my player(s) is on?
A: We anticipate having teams assembled for all division by the end of March.  Once teams have been assembled, we will provide player information to coaches. Once coaches have this information, they will begin reaching out to provide information on practices, games, etc.

Q: When are Evaluations?

Evaluations for our 10U & 12U Baseball and Softball Divisions are slated for Saturday, March 19th at St. Mary’s High School Field House located at the St. Mary’s field house located at 142 Laverack Ave in Lancaster. The times will be between 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM with individual division times to be determined. Once evaluations are completed teams will be drafted during the week following the draft.   There are no evaluations for Tee Ball, Coach pitch, both 8u and both 15u divisions.

Q: What are evaluations?
A: Evaluations are for the 10U & 12U Baseball and Softball Divisions only. The purpose of evaluations is to assess each player in those divisions and then draft teams fairly to ensure all House Teams are competitive. Evaluations will last no more than 1 hour and will assess each players fielding, hitting, throwing, catching and pitching where applicable.

Q: What should my player bring to evaluations?
A: Players should come with a glove, bat (MUST BE USA BASEBALL CERTIFIED), helmet (w/Facemask for softball,8U, Coach & T-Ball) , Rubber Molded Cleats (optional but strongly preferred) and water bottle. All male players MUST wear a cup.

Q: What if my player cannot attend the evaluations?
A: If your player is not present for evaluations, they will not be eligible to be drafted on a team and therefore they will randomly be placed on a team following the draft. The draft will be held the week following evaluations.

Q: When will the 2022 season conclude?
A:  We anticipate regular season games being completed by July 2 weather permitting. Playoffs (for all divisions except Tee Ball & Coach Pitch) will beginning the following week. Tee Ball & Coach Pitch games may continue past July 2 depending on if there is a need to make up games that may have been cancelled as a result of the weather.

Q: When is this year’s Year End Picnic?
A: The picnic is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, July 16th.

Q: When will complete game schedules be available?
A: Final schedules for all divisions will be available on our website by late April.

Q: What days of the week will my player(s) have games?
A: Most teams will have a game scheduled on Saturday’s during the regular season. Games will begin at 10 a.m. with last game of the day beginning at 8 p.m. (for older divisions). During the week you can anticipate playing Tuesday – Friday. Games will not be scheduled on Mondays as that day will be reserved for games that need to be made up as a result of weather.

Q: What equipment will my player(s) need for this season?
A: Your player(s) will need a batting helmet (w/Facemask for softball,8U, Coach & T-Ball), baseball pants, USA Certified bat, glove, and rubber molded cleats (optional but highly recommended).
